I really developed as a photographer during my 33rd year, which seems like a strange way to put it, but I did a daily photography challenge that began on my 33rd birthday and had me taking at least 10 pictures, every day, using an actual camera, for the entire year.  At the end of the year I ended up a better photographer and with about 15,000 pictures.  I posted over 400 of them on the blog I kept during that year.  The blog is still online @ 33rdyearphotography
